The general objective of this qualitative research was to develop a local analysis with specific methods, to provide an insight into the behavior of Roma groups (families, couples, teams, gangs, communities, etc.), as well as the models of behavior in the community, of the models of outstanding personalities through the stories transmitted through live speech, but also of the problems related to the interaction faced by the members of the Roma communities in Neamț County.
Qualitative research is based on interpretation, so we cannot discuss absolute objectivity because the researchers involved can have a significant contribution in the analysis, synthesizing the information and presenting the results.
Considering the non-probability sampling, the main limitation of the research consists in the impossibility of generalizing the conclusions of the study at the level of the entire region.
The purpose of qualitative research is not to obtain information that can be generalized to the population in question, but to reach deeper levels of information, to better understand the causes underlying certain phenomena, as well as to explain the motivations, attitudes and the behaviors of certain groups relevant to the research.
The chosen research technique - the in-depth interview - it has the advantage that it can deal with complex topics and that the subjects are not influenced by other participants in the discussion (as can happen in the case of the focus group), but it must be taken into account that the interviewers themselves can involuntarily influence the answers received.
Another limit of qualitative research is that, due to the experience, age, place where he lives, the interview technique knows a series of limitations, which can only be combated by the skill of the interviewer and the specialists who analyze the information collected with interview help.
The research used a complex methodology that allowed a comprehensive approach to the problem, including:
Through the documentary analysis, researches, books, analyzes were studied that targeted the objectives of the present research. The limited volume of the bibliography was the result of the fact that few recent researches have studied Roma culture in the current context.
During the group interviews, the issues discussed referred to the following aspects:
In the interview guide, the technique of open and at the same time focused questions on the subject of the research was mainly used.
