ANCIENT ROMAN STORIES

The cultural tradition of Neamţ County is also enriched by Miltiade Samir.

The fiddler also includes a behavior, an attitude, dignity and seriousness in everything he does. Miltiade Samir comes from a family with a "fiddle" tradition of more than 200 years.

He sang with his father when he was little, he had ambition and "that native talent" inherited from generation to generation. He was a locksmith by profession, he also worked in construction. Miltiade Samir believes that only honest work and a "musical ear" helped him in life.

Modest by nature vis a vis his own records, Miltiade Samir claims that a complete artist interprets any musical genre.

Over time, with globalization, fiddle music became commercial, very few ethnic Roma kept their melodic line. Music is "something extraordinary, something delicate, something pure", that's why it must be sung - for example Botgros - with all your heart and soul.

The Roma were born with the "accordion and the violin in hand", from generation to generation the music and the fiddle were transmitted by the Roma. This reinforces the idea that Roma fiddle music has an important contribution to Roma culture and has been taken over by contemporary artists.
